Slow Cooker Pesto & Sausage Baked Ziti

A delicious and easy slow cooker recipe for baked ziti with Italian sausage and flavorful pesto sauce, creating a comforting meal perfect for busy days.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 16 oz box ziti pasta
  • 1 24 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup pesto sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves

Instructions:

In a skillet over medium heat, cook Italian sausage until browned and crumbled, then drain excess fat

Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain

In the slow cooker, layer cooked sausage, cooked ziti, marinara sauce, pesto sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese, repeating until all ingredients are used up, ending with a layer of cheese on top

Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until cheese is melted and bubbly

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh basil leaves
