Easter Eggs Cookie Connection
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring gels various colors
- Easter egg-shaped cookie cutters
- Edible decorations sprinkles, edible glitter, etc
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt
In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms
Divide the dough into portions and tint each portion with different food coloring gels to create various Easter egg colors
Wrap each colored dough portion in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour
Preheat the oven to 350F 175C
Roll out each colored dough portion to about 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface
Use Easter egg-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies from the rolled dough
Place the cut-out cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
Once the cookies are completely cooled, decorate them with edible decorations like sprinkles and edible glitter
Let the decorations set before serving or packaging the cookies
