Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta

A comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken, savory ham, and melted Swiss cheese, all combined with al dente penne pasta in a creamy Parmesan sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices ham, chopped
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese, chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

Cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente

Drain and set aside

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat

Add chicken slices and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side

Remove chicken from skillet and set aside

In the same skillet, add chopped ham and cook for 2 minutes

Add flour and cook for another minute, stirring constantly

Gradually whisk in milk until smooth

Cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes

Stir in grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper

Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce

Place cooked chicken slices on top of the pasta mixture, then top with chopped Swiss cheese

Cover the skillet and cook on low heat until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 3-5 minutes

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving
