Bowtie Pasta and Sausage
Ingredients:
- 8 oz bowtie pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can 14 oz diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions:
Follow the directions on the bowtie pasta package to cook it
Remove the water and set it aside
Brown the Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium-low heat, breaking it up with a spoon as you go
Finely chop the onion and add it to the pan
Saut until the onion gets soft
Add the minced garlic and cook for one to two more minutes
Chicken broth, chopped fresh basil and parsley, dried oregano, salt, and pepper should all be added now
Mix well
Let the sauce cook on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes so the flavors can blend and the sauce can get thicker
Toss the cooked bowtie pasta with the sausage and tomato sauce in the pan after adding it
Grate some Parmesan cheese on top of the Bowtie Pasta and Sausage while its still hot
