Chinese Chili Sichuan Style Soup
A flavorful and spicy Sichuan-style soup with a mix of meat, tofu, and vegetables, creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup ground pork
- 1/2 cup firm tofu, cubed
- 2 tablespoons Sichuan peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons chili oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup bok choy, chopped
- 1/2 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a pot, bring chicken broth to a simmer
In a separate pan, cook ground pork until browned
Drain excess fat
Add tofu, Sichuan peppercorns, chili oil, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic to the pot with simmering broth
Stir in cooked pork, bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, and green onions
Simmer for 10-15 minutes until vegetables are tender
Season with sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste
