Indulge in the delightful combination of earthy pan-fried mushrooms, gooey Swiss cheese, and vibrant spinach nestled between two slices of crispy toasted sourdough bread. Finished with a drizzle of tangy balsamic glaze, this sandwich is a gourmet treat for any mealtime.

Ingredients:

  • 200g mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • Handful of fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze

Instructions:

In a pan over medium heat, warm up 1 tablespoon of olive oil

To the skillet, add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms

Saut for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until the mushrooms are golden brown

Add pepper and salt to taste

Use a toaster or a grill to cook the sourdough bread slices until they are golden brown

Toast the sourdough and put butter on one side of each piece

Add a slice of Swiss cheese to one of each of the two sourdough slices that we didnt butter

Place an equal amount of sauted mushrooms on each of the two cheese-topped bread slices

Put some fresh spinach leaves on top of the mushrooms

Put the balsamic glaze on top of the spinach

Put the last few sourdough slices on top, buttered side facing out

Put the clean pan on medium-low heat

It will take about 34 minutes per side for the bread to turn golden brown and the cheese to melt after you put the sandwiches in the pan

Enjoy while hot
