Smores Poke Cake

This Smores Poke Cake is a delightful twist on the classic campfire treat. It combines the flavors of chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows into a moist and decadent dessert thats easy to make. Perfect for any occasion

Ingredients:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows for topping

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish

In a mixing bowl, prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions, using the water, vegetable oil, and eggs

In another bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter

Press this mixture into the bottom of the greased baking dish to form a crust

Pour the prepared chocolate cake batter over the graham cracker crust in the baking dish

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean

While the cake is still warm, use the back of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cakes surface

Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes

Sprinkle mini marshmallows and chocolate chips over the top of the cake

Return the cake to the oven and broil on low for 1-2 minutes, just until the marshmallows and chocolate chips begin to melt and turn golden brown

Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning

Remove the cake from the oven and sprinkle crushed graham crackers over the top

Drizzle chocolate syrup over the cake for extra flavor and decoration

Allow the cake to cool completely before serving

You can refrigerate it to speed up the cooling process

Before serving, top with additional mini marshmallows for a smores look and feel
